Kerrville Host Lions Club Awards Over $38,000 in Grants to Support Local Volunteer Fire Departments
Kerrville, Texas — August 27, 2025 — The Kerrville Host Lions Club has announced the award of two significant grants to local volunteer fire departments, providing crucial support for emergency response capabilities in the Texas Hill Country. These grants were made possible through funds raised for flood relief efforts.
The Comfort Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) received a grant of $23,985, which will be used to purchase vital vehicular equipment that enhances the department’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies across its service area.

The Ingram Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) was awarded a grant of $14,850 to fund swift water rescue training, ensuring that firefighters are fully equipped to respond to water-related emergencies — a critical need in a region prone to flash flooding.

“These grants reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting first responders who put themselves on the line for our communities,” said Danny Dean, Club President. “The Kerrville Host Lions Club is proud to reinvest flood relief funds where they can make the most impact — protecting lives and property,” Danny said.
Funds for these grants were drawn from the Kerrville Flood Relief Fund, established by the Kerrville Host Lions Club Foundation and supported by donations from all over the world following the July 4th flooding disaster in the area. Through this fund, the Lions continue their long-standing tradition of service, channeling resources directly into local needs.
