Foundation & Flood Funds

Foundation’s Approach to Providing Flood Relief

The outpouring of support for the Texas Hill Country and those impacted by the unprecedented flood on July 4, 2025 has been amazing. The Foundation’s approach to administering these funds and to provide relief to the community will include a number of “domains” for making grants to fulfill the “earmark of flood relief,” including but not necessarily limited to support for the following:

  1. Individuals & Family (through Non-Profit Organizations or NPOs)
  2. Volunteer/NPO Room & Board Support  (through NPOs)
  3. Local Businesses
  4. First Responders
  5. Crisis Response
  6. Community Resilience

We have awarded the following grants thus far, and will be accelerating our grant making in the near future:

  1. $5,000: to the Kerrville Chamber of Commerce Foundation – (1. Local Businesses)
  2. 08/05/2025 – $25,000: to Somebody Cares – (5. Crisis Response/Individuals & Family).
  3. 8/25/2025 – $23,985.00: Comfort Volunteer Fire Department (4. First Responders)
  4. 8/25/2025 – $14,850.00: Ingram Volunteer Fire Department (4. First Responders)
  5. 9/22/2025 – $75,000.00: Mo-Ranch (2. NPO Room & Board Support, 3. Local Businesses, 5. Crisis Response)
  6. 9/22/2025 – $50,000.00: Summer Dreams (1. Individuals & Family, 3. Local Businesses 6. Community Resilience)

I can’t tell you how much the love and support from Lions and other gracious donors from all over the globe has meant to our community. It is both needed and appreciated.  At the same time, the response has been both humbling and inspiring.

On behalf of the Kerrville Host Lions Club Foundation, thank you for supporting these worthy causes and helping our community to heal.
